BYDGOSZCZ CAST IRON FOUNDRY

COMPANY HISTORY

1901

Odlewnia Żeliwa Bydgoszcz Sp. z o.o. is a company with many years of tradition and experience. The first smelting was produced at the beginning of the last century, in 1901.

In the first years, we specialised in casting of parts for locomotives.

1975

After a thorough modernisation, in 1975, the foundry was adapted to the production of brake shoe inserts. Since then, we have become experts in this field. An innovative solution was the use of brake shoe inserts with expansion joints. We are pleased to say that currently only such technology is used in Poland.

2000

In 2000, we were the first among the manufacturers of brake shoe inserts to obtain the ISO quality certificate, as well as the approval of the French SNCF and Belgian SNCB railways, and in 2008 also the Russian RŻD railways.

2002

In 2002, we joined the group of eleven companies that are part of the German DIHAG Holding based in Essen. Thus, the company gained access to the most modern technical solutions and the help of qualified engineering staff.

The high quality of our castings is evidenced by the indefinite certificate of release to service issued by the Central Railway Office (currently the Office of Rail Transport).
